Frequently Asked Questions
How do I host a party?
Open Zouk on iPhone or Apple Watch and tap Create Party. Share the 4-character party code with friends nearby. They tap Join Party, enter the code, and the room glows together.
Why can't my friends see the party?
Make sure all devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. Zouk uses your local network for discovery — it does not work over cellular or different networks. Also check that Local Network permission is granted in Settings → Zouk.
The light show isn't pulsing to the beat. What's wrong?
Zouk listens to the music in the room through your microphone. If your phone is in your pocket or covered, beat detection may suffer. Place the host phone closer to the speaker for best results. Also confirm Microphone permission is granted in Settings → Zouk.
What does Zouk Pro unlock?
Pro unlocks party hosting, the full effect library, party history, flash sync, brightness sync, and advanced latency tuning. Joining a party is always free — Pro is for the host who runs the show.
How do I cancel my Zouk Pro subscription?
Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions. Find Zouk Pro and tap Cancel Subscription. Your Pro features will remain active until the end of the current billing period.
Can I get a refund?
All purchases on Zouk are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple directly — visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request one.
Does Zouk record or upload audio?
No. Audio is analyzed only on your device for beat detection. Nothing is recorded, nothing is uploaded, nothing leaves your phone. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Is there a Photosensitive seizure warning?
Yes. Some Zouk effects involve flashing lights and rapid color changes. If you or anyone in your family has a history of epilepsy or seizures, consult a doctor before using the app. Stop using immediately if you experience dizziness, altered vision, or any unusual symptoms.
Does Zouk work without an internet connection?
Yes — once installed, Zouk works entirely over your local Wi-Fi network. No internet is required for parties to run.
Can I use Zouk on iPad or Mac?
Zouk is designed for iPhone and Apple Watch. iPad and Mac are not supported in the current release.
Why is my Apple Watch lagging behind the iPhone?
Apple Watch and iPhone synchronize their clocks via an NTP-style protocol over Wi-Fi. If your Watch is far from the router or under load, sync drift can occur. Try restarting Zouk on the Watch and ensuring both devices are on the same network.
